Artisanal parasols, painted by hand

Our parasols are distinguished by their unique and vibrant paintworks. Although we also produce and sell plain unpainted parasols, those with paintings are among our best-selling products. The production of these parasols is a highly labor-intensive process, carried out with attention to detail and craftsmanship. We would like to tell you more about the artisanal way in which Bali Parasols are painted and the type of paint used for this purpose.

The paintings

The parasols are hand-painted, making each one a unique artwork. This is in contrast to other Balinese parasols, which are often stenciled or printed. We exclusively offer parasols painted by master painters, created in a small-scale workshop in Bali. This craft has been passed down from generation to generation. The pattern of the Serenity Collection is even a registered Balinese heritage pattern from our workshop.

The paint

Our parasols are available in various colors, with different paintings to choose from. You have the option of selecting either gold or silver paint. This paint is of the highest quality, ensuring years of enjoyment of this beautiful artwork. The silver parasol with print retains its original color intensity. The gold patina paint will gradually change color, eventually resulting in a vintage parasol. The contemporary demand for vintage products is increasing. Our gold-painted parasol with patina paint weathers with time, aligning with this trend.

Production

Due to the intricate and extensive painting process, the production of our parasols is limited. Each parasol is handmade and painted. This makes the production lead time relatively long. For example, painting a fully painted parasol typically takes around two weeks. The result: a very unique and sturdy vintage parasol that leaves an impression as soon as you open the box.
