In Asian culture the Lotus flower is seen as the embodiment of pure personal growth in life.

The life cycle of a Lotus flower starts deep dark in the mud, working its way up to the light, flowers and gives back her seeds to the muddy bottom by bowing over towards the water. Here starts the new growing cycle again.
